Around the World : Yugoslavia

Final assembly of CKD Austin 1300s began at a plant in Novo Mesto during 1969, with the cars arriving from Longbridge almost complete; indeed, the chassis plates of these models identified them as having come from Longbridge

Yugoslav 1100s

IN 1967 in Novo Mesto, Slovenia, IMV (Industrija Motornih Vozil – Industry of Motor Vehicles) signed a cooperation licence with BMC to assemble CKD Austin 1300s (ADO16). Car assembly started with the Austin 1300 Saloon super de luxe. This was followed in 1970 with production of the Austin 1000, Mini and also the Austin 1500 Maxi.

In 1971, the Austin 1750 Maxi was briefly produced, followed in 1972 by the Austin 1300 Special. In the meantime, IMV signed a new co-operation agreement with Renault in 1972, which effectively saw the end of the manufacture of Austin cars at IMV.

Production data (according to the BPMV, the then Yugoslav equivalent of the SMMT):

What were the parts that IMV added to make them complete?
