The Dolomite started out, not as a Dolomite at all, but as the small and fully equipped front wheel drive Triumph 1300. In its lifetime, it saw front wheel drive, rear wheel drive (and a four wheel drive one-off) and engines that ranged from a three-bearing ohv 1300 to a 16-valve, 2-litre powerhouse.
The development story
Born in 1965, died in 1980, the Dolomite range earned many friends. This article charts the development of the car that started out as "project Ajax". |
