Bond was founded in Preston in 1948 by Laurence Bond, and made a very healthy business for itself building the three-wheeler Minicar. Over time, the company expanded into full-sized car production – but in 1968, the company was sold to Reliant, who ended up closing the factory doors in Preston two years later…
