The Range Rover Autobiography Ultimate Edition was unveiled in Shanghai. Only 500 units will be commissioned globally, with each car crafted to customer order only. Already, more than 150 orders for the Ultimate have been taken in China and more than 50 in the United States.

The Ultimate Edition features two stand-alone powered rear seats, a rear console extension with an aluminium laptop table and a drinks chiller. Attention to detail is second-to-none with hand-crafted soft feel leathers, machined aluminium detailing and a super-yacht inspired teak floor in the rear load space. For the first time in a vehicle, two Apple iPads are fitted as standard. The anticipated price in China is RMB 3,398,000.

The Range Rover Evoque also made its Chinese debut when it was unveiled by Land Rover Global Brand Director, John Edwards. Market pricing will be announced for both Coupé and five-door body styles, along with an extensive range of personalisation options.

China is Land Rover’s fastest growing market with Range Rover in particular seeing positive growth – up 59% YOY. The Range Rover Evoque will also take centre stage in New York – the world’s biggest metropolitan market for Range Rover. Sales of the marque are up 22% YTD in North America as US customers continue to respond positively to the outstanding levels of performance, design and comfort offered by the British brand.

The Range Rover Evoque is expected to bring a new group of North American customers to the brand. Every Evoque destined for the United States will be equipped with all-wheel drive and feature a new 237bhp 2.0-litre petrol engine, which combines direct fuel injection, turbocharging and twin variable valve timing.

  1. I confess I’m not that interested in the Range Rover Evoque but the MG Concept 5 looks sharp and sporty. Time will tell…

  2. This is very good news for Land Rover, with the company clearly not delaying in offering prospective Chinese buyers the latest models. Land Rover is going from strength to strength with what is a fantastic product line-up and that’s a massive boost for British manufacturing. Long may it continue.

  3. What on earth is that horrible looking object at the top with ‘Range Rover’ on the front? I don’t buy British so they can produce cars like that – not that any other countries do better…

  4. The Evoque’s interior and off-road capability continue the Range Rover tradition. Consumers are more concerned about reliability than other factors and that’s why demand for Land Rovers has increased.
