MGLive! is the weekend where the whole family gets together to celebrate everything that’s great about MG cars and MG people. Enthusiasts from over 15 different nations are expected to attend MGLive! 2012 and on-site camping means a festival atmosphere will be present from the outset.

For a third successive year the MGCC will be utilising Silverstone’s full Grand Prix circuit and with an impressive racing schedule planned, there will be plenty to keep motor sport enthusiasts entertained throughout both days. The MGCC’s official MGB50 celebration race assumes centre stage on Saturday 23rd June. The prestigious 50 minute race for FIA-spec MGBs running on Dunlop Historic Tyres includes a mandatory pit stop and interest from competitors is already high.

Meanwhile, off track, a Saturday lunchtime MGB50-themed street party and a Sunday afternoon MGB Silverstone circuit tour means ‘B’ owners will be able to commemorate Abingdon’s most famous export in super style. The 10th Anniversary of the MGTF will also be recognised with an MGLive! ‘After All Hours Party” planned for Saturday evening.

The MGLive! weekend will also include the usual blend of Live Arena action, Trade City, Autojumble, a lifestyle marquee, free on-site vintage bus transport, Autotest, Autosolo, Rocker Box Racing, MG Motor UK, MGCC marquee, Air displays, Kidzone and much more.

Furthermore, Macmillan Cancer Support, the MG Car Club’s chosen charity, will have their distinctive green mobile cancer information bus at MGLive!. This will enable anyone who has any question about any aspect of cancer to simply hop on and speak to a dedicated Macmillan professional throughout the Silverstone weekend.

  1. i had two of the mgb dropheads and now i can’t even struggle into one if anyone knows where CAB98 H or ANP68M are now i would love to know.

  2. After the brilliant Pride of Longbridge event almost two weeks ago I went with a friend in his MGB GT to the MGB’s 50th Birthday Run at the Heritage Motor Centre the following day. It was very interesting with 500 MGBs turning out in force.

Sadly my friend at 30 years old was the youngest owner in attendance by far and also the most fashionable in terms of dress sense.

But it was a good day – he got to spend all day looking over examples of the sports car he has yearned to own since he was 15 years old, I enjoyed admiring the new Land Rovers and Range Rovers parked up nearby and we both enjoyed yet another opportunity to admire the exhibits inside the museum itself. We also met Mr MGB himself, Don Hayter, and he was happy to be photographed standing alongside my friend’s example, while Mr Hayter’s own former development MGB roadster with an O Series engine was very interesting.
