MG Car Club : Former BTCC star Anthony Reid to race at MGLive!

Former MG Rover works driver Anthony Reid has confirmed his participation in MGLive! – the MG Car Club’s annual Silverstone celebration which takes place on 24 – 26 June 2011.

Reid will be campaigning an MG ZS with the high-profile Vulcan Racing team which races in the MGCC’s Peter Best Insurance Challenge Championship.

The Glasgow-born speedster is hugely popular amongst the MG community having competed with the marque at Le Mans and extensively in the British Touring Car Championship.

Reid will be racing on Silverstone’s Grand Prix circuit with the Vulcan team, following two previous stints in the car at Castle Combe.

His appearance at MGLive! will certainly excite motorsport enthusiasts throughout the UK and adds another exciting dimension to an already action-packed, family friendly weekend.

Anthony Reid said: ‘MGLive! is a tremendous event and I’m thrilled to be part of it in 2011. Of course, I’ll be hoping to put on a good show for the MG fans in attendance and I’m looking forward to the endurance race I’ll be competing in.’

Vulcan Racing’s Peter Burchill commented: ‘We are so very proud to have BTCC legend Anthony Reid back into our MG ZS once again and I know he will be given a warm welcome by MG enthusiasts at MGLive!
