MG Car Club : Full Calendar of Events for 2011 now available online

The MG Car Club has just released full details of this year’s more than 350 event calendar which includes everything from track days to tech talks, road runs to race meetings and sprints to social meets.

However, the jewel in the MG Car Club’s crown is the organisation’s showpiece MGLive! event which takes place at Silverstone from the 24th to 26th June, 2011. Other high profile events include Midget50, ZedTen and the Club’s six race meetings at Brands Hatch, Oulton Park, Silverstone (MGLive!), Thruxton, Donington Park and Snetterton.

The Club’s Calendar of Events for 2011 also contains details of key International events being staged by worldwide MG Car Clubs. These include the 2011 European Event of the Year which will take centre stage at Spa, Belgium in June and the Australian National Meeting in New South Wales.

MG Car Club General Manager, Julian White, said: “Our 2011 MG Car Club events calendar is hugely impressive and there really is an event for every type of MG owner. We have seen a marked increase in the amount of people attending MGCC events in recent years and we’re confident that positive trend will continue throughout the next twelve months.

“The extensive variety on offer is thanks to the hard work and dedication from hundreds of MGCC volunteers. The Club is run by members, for members. The huge amount of dedication, passion and energy our volunteers invest into the organisation ensures the MGCC’s range of events are consistently first-rate. I’m looking forward to meeting MG owners up and down the country throughout 2011.”

About the Author:

Clive claims that his interest in the BMC>MG story dates back to his childhood in the 1960s when the family’s garage premises were leased to a tenant with an Austin agency. However, back in the 1920s and 1930s, his grandmother was one of the country’s first female Garage Proprietors so cars probably run in his genes! Admits to affairs with Alfa Romeos, but has more recently owned an 06/06 MG TF 135 and then a 15/64 MG3 Style… Clive, who was AROnline’s News Editor for nearly four years, stood down from that role in order to devote more time to various Motor Racing projects but still contributes articles on as regular basis as his other commitments permit.
