    What a shame to ruin such a nice car – but as it stands, that could be fun on a banger rally!

    I like cars, taking pictures, travelling and knee-high boots - not necessarily in that order :)

    I’ve had a few of these – and have a real soft spot for them.

    My favourite was the 80CD…

    My uncle had the similar B2 Passat with the 5 cylinder engine, made a cracking noise!

    I had 3 B2s, 2 were Audi 80 GLSs and one was an audi 90 CD, I do wonder where they all went though as I don’t recall them being rusty or even troublesome..

    @Mike..
    I know what you mean.. but I can think of better.. any of the 6 pot 12 valve Jaguar sports cars, SD1 vitesse with wishfull silencing, 289CID pre 70 mustangs. Any pre war Bugatti GP car actually the last one is just pure sex.. I think Éttore took a typically itallian attitude to ‘silencing’, if it does not make it faster, it’s not important and a straight 8 with little silenceing on full chat if you’ve not heard it get to goodwood!.. only beaten by a 1.5 litre V16 BRM, make the modern GP car sound.. well just a tad weedy
