I love MINIs, not so much the car, more the way they divid opinion. That said, how much lomger has this brand got. Will it do the 40+ of the original, or will it peter out in the next ten years. Will it surplant the original in our memories? |

So long as BMW can churn out fresh derivatives, they’ll be here to stay. I like to think of them as the spiritual successor to BMC circa 1964 than the successor to just the Mini. Seeing it like that makes the C’man and the P’man bearable. |

In it for the long haul I reckon. BMW know the MINI’s market inside out after a decade. Can’t see anything else toppling its crown to be honest. Even the very first ones are still sought after. |

And no bad thing – it’s made by a British workforce after all. |

My only criticism of Mini is that the Countryman should not have been badged a “Mini”, but a “Bloody Huge”. |

well the old ‘brand’ didn’t last 40 years. They were originally sold as Austin’s or Morris’s, then Leyland, then Austin’s again. It wasn’t really until the 90′s that ‘Mini’ really became a brand in its own right, by that stage it had become well and truly iconic. |

How much longer before a MINI is bigger than a Maxi? |

@Mike My name isn’t Howard. Just because Keith said it was once doesn’t mean that’s my name. |
