Europe’s sales figures are in, and it seems that despite German dominance at the top, Britain did quite well as both Land Rover and MINI have recorded strong rises in sales. Rolls-Royce and Bentley also did well, but the big shock was that Jaguar had the biggest fall in sales of any manufacturer selling in Europe,14.7 per cent to just 23,074 sales, around 14,000 being British sales. Should we be worried, or will the Sportbrake and C-X16 pick the brand up?

Interesting figures, and slightly concerning about Jaguar – although they will say it’s a global business and there’s been big rises in China and India.

The XJ’s in a different price bracket now, realistically. That’s got to affect things.

The lower-power XF four-banger will probably help things along, too. What they need to attract European sales now is an AWD XF/XF wagon, to get the market SAAB would have been going after with the 9-4x – Jaguar stands a much better chance than Audi, BMW or Mercedes in the Scandinavian regions.

Regardless of any sales figures Jaguar Landrover are solidly profitable. Remember these are European figures only. Jaguar are doing good business in China where the real action is.

Yes, I’d noticed that with Jaguar too. Glad they’re doing well in China, but can’t see whay the current range is doing badly relative to the default choices of BMW, Audi and Mecerdezzzzzzz….

@Gripper But being up over 5000% month on month isn’t bad. If this trend continues, they’ll outsell Fiat soon :-P
