The Roewe 95 has been spotted out testing in China. As it is based on a GM platform (Epsilon, I believe), it will not contain any parts from any MGR cars. However, for a Chinese car it looks classy. No news on whether it will actually replace the now 13 year old Rover 75, or compliment it before that car sees its days numbered. http://www.chinacartimes.com/2012/02/05/generation-roewe-750-naked/

More meaningless waffle from the bloke at China Car times. I wish he’d either take a photography class or get a camera lens other than a 20mm wide angle to photograph the cars with.

Well I thought the pictures were ok, after all it’s not like they’re going to appear in a book or anything. It’s just so we know what the car will look like.
But, I have to agree with Dennis to a point, it is just waffle from that bloke quite often (from what I’ve read). To be honest, I could have found out a lot of that in five minuets on the web.
On the other hand there probably isn’t a lot more he can say at this stage in all fairness.

Hi Dennis – thanks for the supportive comments.

First off, the vast majority (as in 99.99%) of spy pictures come from partners, be it auto163 or sohu auto, so we are not responsible for what they look like. Our own decision is if to run them or not, and with a fairly solid MG-Roewe fan base in the UK its not often that we decide not to run such pictures when we receive them.

Secondly – Yes it was a little waffle, but look when the story was posted (sunday evening) how many of you guys were sitting down to work on a Sunday evening?

Thirdly – if you have any suggestions to make the site better, please email me directly: editor@chinacartimes.com, I read all emails and may even reply if you come up with something half decent.

Cheers then.

reads like factual info to me, not waffle. The car looks a lot like that new De Tomaso featured here recently. Can’t see it selling many in Europe though.

With engine sizes of 2.0 2.4 & 3.0 they can’t be destined for the UK, shame though, looks pretty good I think. Will it spawn an MG?

Easy to mock others’ hard work isn’t it

@ Mark Mastro. I don’t think anyone is mocking of such, but to quote the age old adage, if you haven’t got anything worth saying, don’t say it.
While I wasn’t aware of the engine line up for it, the rest I think we already knew.
Just going over the same thing devalues your work.
Personally I’m very grateful for the photos. And it is worth adding that many of these shots probably weren’t meant to be taken-SAIC probably aren’t to pleased about the prototype shots appearing on the website.

@ Jason1.8TC. A think the big tell tale is the lack of diesel. It’s a shame because it could go head to head with the Skoda Superb.
