Parts distribution organisation XPart is offering its AutoService centre network the opportunity to improve its knowledge of K-series engine repairs. Members of XPart’s AutoService centre network are gaining valuable knowledge of K-series engine repairs by attending a new training course.

The one-day K-series Engine and Cooling System Service course, held at the NAC MG UK training facility in Longbridge, provides technicians with the expertise to diagnose, repair and service all aspects of the K-series four-cylinder petrol engine and associated cooling systems.

“The specialist K-series training will help our technicians to become experts in K-series engine repair,” comments Don Lindsay, Service Marketing Manager, XPart. “The course is particularly useful for those technicians who are new to the network and may not have a background in MG Rover repairs. By completing the training, they will be able to diagnose faults associated with the K-series engine and cooling systems and carry out repairs. They will also learn the correct procedure for dismantling and reassembling the engine together with best practice for servicing, engine rebuild and installation.”

Attending the K-series training course has not only developed our technicians’ technical knowledge but has also improved their efficiency in dealing with K-series engine faults

The K-series engine, found across a wide range of MG Rover cars, together with other vehicles such as the Lotus Elise and Land Rover Freelander, is a powerful and lightweight road-going engine. Over three million K-series engines have been built since its launch in 1989, and a 2-litre version has powered entries in the British Touring Car championships since 2002. Through specialist knowledge of the K-series engine, XPart AutoService centre technicians can reassure owners that any problems experienced with the engine will be dealt with efficiently and effectively.

“Attending the K-series training course has not only developed our technicians’ technical knowledge but has also improved their efficiency in dealing with K-series engine faults,” explains Patrick Warner, Managing Director, Sterling Automotive. “The course tutors provided invaluable product knowledge which is helping us to save our customers money and inspire them with confidence in our business.”

The new K-series training course forms part of XPart’s ongoing commitment to providing on-demand technical training to its AutoService centre network.
