The mood at Geneva was strange – the manufacturers seemed bold, unveiling a barrage of concepts and interesting new models, but the number of press representatives there was well down on last year (or so it seemed to us), and the specialists were reporting ‘tough times.’
Despite that, there was new metal – and plenty of it – reflecting the optimism in the market two years ago (when most of these new variations were planned), but the move towards ecologically focused models has been rapid. And, perhaps from here, a little cynical.
It will be interesting to see how next year’s show compares.
