If anyone’s under any illusions that Jaguar isn’t pulling out all the stops with the stops to get the new F-Type talked about – here’s some big budget film promotion. ‘Desire’ is directed by Ridley Scott, and ‘F-Type’ is styled by Ian Callum’s team. Some combination…
Here’s the official blurb: ‘One man. One job. But in the desert, nothing is simple. Watch the full trailer for ‘Desire’, created in collaboration with Ridley Scott Associates for the all-new Jaguar F-Type – starring Golden Globe winner Damian Lewis, Shannyn Sossamon, Jordi Mollà, and music by BRIT award winner Lana Del Rey.’

It isn’t directed by Sir Ridders himself, actually – instead, it’s produced by Ridley Scott Associates, Mr. Scott’s TV advert production company.
Still, this is a rather lavish piece of marketing, not unlike BMW’s series of short films a decade ago (among which a rather less stellar entry was directed by the other Scot, the late Tony).
Of course, dear old MG did the same in Feb 2011 to mark the launch of the MG6. They sold 1 (one) car off the back of it. I wish J-LR much, much more success.
Uh-oh. There’s another movie trailer on Youtube for a 2012 film which is also called “Desire” and features a Jaguar but, er, you wouldn’t take your granny to see it…
Spare me ! What an insult to the intelligence . Do you now have to be as thick as pigs++t to buy a Jaguar ? A horrible sign of things beginning to go wrong
