Rover Metro/100 (R6)
Under the skin, there was plenty to crow about the 1990 Rover Metro, or 100-series in export market. The K-Series engine probably worked best here, while the interconnected Hydragas suspension was a technical marvel in this class, lending it an air of sophistication behind the wheel.
However, the same-again styling stunted its long term sales success in a market where style meant everything. A good seller in the UK, but killed by poor NCAP performance in 1997.
