Alexander is a big fan of the Maestro, and also has a soft spot for the R8-series Rover 200.
Rover 216 GSi

This 216GSi still looks remarkably like it did when it rolled off the Longbridge
production line, back in 1991. Note the optional alloy wheels and leather interior
- it also comes equipped with the desirable option of air conditioning...

Alexander's car poses next to the S2N car... needless to say that the GSi is
little shinier and better-kept than our thrashed GTi.

MG Maestro 1600
A new addition to the fleet: how many MG Maestro 1600s now remain in mainland
Europe, I wonder?
MG Maestro EFi
Not Alexander's car, but one that is a part of the family: Bought new 1986 to replace the family's rusty Austin 1300 Mk3, the MG has serviced faultless up to now nearly 230,000 miles. Some welding was needed recently and the engine has been replaced by a younger one - but not because the old engine was worn out (at 220,000 miles). The new engine was cheaply available and it was just a little more work to put this engine in instead of replacing lots of hoses, injectors and some oil seals that had seen better days on the old engine. The pictures show the MG enjoying a bit of autumn sun at the 20th birthday...
