Jaguar Land Rover : Board-level changes will enhance sales and marketing

Jaguar Land Rover has today announced four senior executive appointments into new board-level roles in a restructured and significantly enhanced global marketing and sales division.

The new organisational structure is being implemented to accelerate Jaguar Land Rover’s continued progress towards developing a strong and consistently profitable global premium automotive business. The four appointments are:-

Phil Popham, currently Land Rover Managing Director, is appointed Director, Global Sales and Service Operations, Jaguar Land Rover. Popham, 45, who has more than 20 years’ combined experience with the Land Rover and Jaguar brands, will have management responsibility for the global sales and after sales operations of both brands, overseeing the company’s national and regional business units and the dealer network worldwide.

John Edwards, currently Managing Director, Land Rover UK and Central Europe, is appointed Global Brand Director, Land Rover. Edwards, 48, who has more than 10 years’ experience with Land Rover, will assume global responsibility for the brand.

Adrian Hallmark, joins the company as Global Brand Director, Jaguar. Hallmark, 48, who will have global responsibility for the Jaguar brand, joins Jaguar Land Rover from Saab Automobile AB, where he was Executive Director, Sales – prior that appointment he held senior management positions at Porsche, Bentley and Volkswagen.

Mike Wright, currently Director, Customer Services, Jaguar Land Rover, is appointed to the new role of Executive Director, Jaguar Land Rover. Wright, 57 will continue to focus on the development of financial services globally and special vehicle operations for both brands and will take on additional responsibilities relating to the development of corporate strategies.

All four senior executives are members of Jaguar Land Rover’s Executive Committee and report directly to Dr. Ralf Speth, Chief Executive Officer, Jaguar Land Rover.

“These new appointments and the new structure significantly strengthen the marketing and sales organisation for the Jaguar and Land Rover brands within the framework of one globally successful company,” commented Dr. Speth. “The changes will also ensure that the voice of the customer is heard even more clearly at the most senior level in the business.”

The new appointments and business structure are effective from the 1st December, 2010.

[Editor’s Note: Adrian Hallmark’s appointment as Global Brand Director, Jaguar represents something of a coup for Jaguar Land Rover – Hallmark only became Saab Automobile AB’s Executive Director, Sales on the 15th March, 2010. Ironically, the announcement of his move to Jaguar Land Rover came on the same day as the first official pictures of the new Saab 9-4X were released…]
