MG Motor UK has today announced that MG ZERO Concept car which will star at the ‘MPH featuring Top Gear Live’ shows in November has safely arrived at MG Birmingham. The ZERO was first shown at the Beijing Automotive Show and caused a sensation, receiving rave reviews from the world’s automotive media and visitors alike.
However, the ‘MPH featuring Top Gear Live’ shows will mark the ZERO Concept’s European debut and MG expect the car to be a real crowd puller. ZERO was designed by the UK-based team led by MG Design Director, Anthony Williams-Kenny.
Guy Jones, MG Motor UK’s Director of Sales and Marketing, said: “Everyone has been bowled over by the ZERO and, although still a concept, it is vitally important to us because it shows the direction for the smaller range of cars to follow MG6.”
Interestingly, another new MG of, perhaps, more immediate significance was shown to the Chinese public for the first time today – the MG6 Saloon was unveiled in the UK Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo. Ash Sutcliffe of China Car Times reports that the MG6 Saloon will be offered with the same powertrains as the existing Fastback model and reckons that UK-spec versions of both the MG6 Fastback and Saloon will be on the MG Motor UK stand at the ‘MPH featuring Top Gear Live’ shows next month too…
