Jaguar Land Rover’s new, £2m., ‘Virtual
Reality Centre’ was opened at the Design and Engineering Centre
in Gaydon, Warwickshire yesterday.
The ‘state-of-the-art’ design facility combines advanced
audio visual technologies with the projection power of the world’s
highest resolution projectors and enables Designers and Engineers to see
and interact with life-size, three-dimensional, models of vehicles and
components.

Roewe's 550 finally hits the market with prices and specs
now confirmed. The NAC-MG TF is also confirmed for a 1st August launch
date and the company is hoping it'll be a global success to pave the way
for the new model ranges. And Jaguar-Land Rover is looking rosy under
Tata, with 600 new jobs on offer at Gaydon, and an aggressive development
programme in the coming years.

Two of AROnline’s contacts in China, Paul Stowe,
Project Director at Shanghai LTI (a Joint Venture between London taxi
maker LTI and Chinese OEM Geely), and Ash Sutcliffe, the man behind the
highly-regarded China Car Times website, are at the forefront of a campaign
to raise money for the relief effort supporting victims of the Sichuan
earthquake in China which killed 50,000 but left millions more vulnerable.

in China. The Tata Nano is looking set for an October launch, too - and

and the sales of premium off-roaders starts to tail off. The Chinese company
SAIC also finds time to unveil a curious sporting concept car... do not

Tata Motors, India's top vehicle maker, said today it had
completed the $2.3 billion acquisition of Jaguar and Land Rover, adding
the luxury brands to a line-up that also includes the low-cost Nano. The
all-cash deal, which was agreed in March, includes all necessary intellectual
property rights, manufacturing plants, two advanced design centres in
the UK and a worldwide network of sales companies, Tata Motors said in
a statement.

We have heard that orders are now being taken for these
Longbridge built cars, although confirmation of pricing and specification
will have to wait until the beginning of next week. Here's a run-down
of what you get - but no prices yet, although our man in the trade says,
'the 500 will be around £16,000 including hard top and air conditioning.'
