Total Track Limited, the company which administers and promotes the increasingly popular MINI Challenge, has just announced an innovative competition for all this year’s JCW Class drivers – the luck winner’s prize will be a full day’s testing in one of the Triple Eight Race Engineering-run MG KX Momentum Racing NGTC-specification MG6 GT BTCC cars which are currently being campaigned by Jason Plato and Sam Tordoff in this year’s Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.

This year’s Best of British Award will be sponsored by Corbeau, Luke and Showtrax and, in addition to receiving data analysis and technical support from Triple Eight’s Engineering Team, the partners will provide the winner with the chance to invite his or her own sponsors along on the day so that they can experience what Motor Racing can offer their own marketing programmes. MINI Challenge cars will also be on hand to provide hot laps for guests and try out runs for drivers looking at competing in the Championship.

The format of the MINI Challenge’s Best of British Award may change in future years but, for 2013, all those drivers who win a race in the MINI Challenge’s top JCW Class, will be presented with one entry ticket into an end of season lottery for the award. Multiple race winners will receive multiple entries into the lottery, so increasing their chances of winning. The format ensures that more people will have the chance to win the award and keep the competition open until the last corner of the last race of the season at Donington Park in September.

The race winners from Rounds 1 to 4 of the 2013 MINI Challenge at Snetterton last weekend were two-time victor and former Renault Clio Cup racer Jake Packun, Northern Irishman Chris Smiley and Chris Smith from Hertford but the announcement of the Best of British Award should certainly intensify the season-long battle at the front of the JCW Class and so the likes of the returning, Excelr8 Motorsport-run Luke Caudle must also stand a good chance of winning the prize.
