Archive : Mr Robinson asks tribunal to order his reinstatement

By Clifford Webb Midlands Industrial Correspondent

Mr Derek Robinson, the BL shop stewards’ leader who lost his job three months ago for advocating disruptive action against Sir Michael Edwardes’s recovery plan, has asked the Birmingham Industrial Tribunal to rule that he was unfairly dismissed and should be reinstated.

The application was submitted on his behalf by a firm of London solicitors who specialize in trade union and employment law. Last night Mr John Bowden, of Seifert Sedley & Co, said he was acting solely for Mr Robinson and had not been retained by a union.
