Events : AROnline 10th anniversary bash

I get sent lots of emails in the course of an average working week, many of which I’m unable to answer when I get them. If they’re rolling into my AROnline account – keith@aronline.co.uk –  they’re generally about cars (sometimes shoes, but that’s a topic for another time!) and either require a lengthy response, or some research that I’m unable to see to there and then.

I mentally log the email, promise to ‘deal’ with it later, and then promptly move on to the next thing. The problem is that, by the very nature of the way in which email works, once it’s dropped off the front page, the chances are it’ll never get looked at again, until I get a slightly irritated ‘why are you ignoring me?’ kind of message. And I hate that, as I really don’t like to be unhelpful – especially when it comes to car stuff.

So, with that in mind, I decided that I could set up an ASK ARONLINE section of our moribund forum, and have added a link to our top menu. It’s a shameless crib from Honest John, and I’m sure he doesn’t mind, but it really does work well. So, if you have any question about cars that’s burning away, click the link, hit ‘New Topic’ and ask away. I don’t profess to know everything, by any stretch of the imagination, but I do know a lot of people who do know a lot of things, so if I can’t come up with an answer, I’m sure one of those can.

  1. Good idea (even if it is slightly borrowed ) but I also read hj and have indeed asked a question of him once, and enjoy reading his motoring agony column so can’t see why it won’t work over here too

  2. Good idea.

Although it might need a bit of regular tidying, another one might be to modify the Cars for Sale section so we can post website links to typically one owner very low mileage cars being sold for little money that are worth preserving/snapping up – a bit like HJ’s A Grand Monday.

Also a forum for people wanting parts that are officially obsolete/NLA?
