Gallery : AROnline Special Tuning 1 of 3

For your Christmas viewing pleasure. Andrew Elphick’s been busy with his scanner to bring you some quirky advertising taken from car magazines over the years.

It’s a major trip down memory lane for those of a certain age; and for the rest of you, they’ll raise a smile or two. Click on the images to see them in full-size.

How times have changed, eh?

Here’s the first gallery – stay tuned for more…

  1. Wicked old adverts… The Vintage Ripspeed items would probably still sell now….. If like me you have an old chariot ! That Pheonix advert for the Mini Clubedface Estate looks err odd.

  2. I wonder what ever happened to the Avon Safety Wheel? I’ve seen serious off-roaders with bead locks on the wheels, but never on a car.

  3. Ripspeed!

Ahh yes, the great Keith Rip who was part and parcel of BBC Grandstand opeing titles for seemingly ever.

That was his Mini barrel rolling after kissing Mabbs Bank at the Lydden circuit.
