Rolls-Royce has  announced the creation of more than 100 new jobs. This announcement follows record sales over the past three years, significant expansion of the manufacturing plant and the launch of the company’s latest model, Wraith. Half-year sales figures announced last week show that Rolls‑Royce is on track for another record year in 2013.

Many of the roles are based at the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood, with around half in Marketing, Sales, After Sales, Public Relations and the company’s Bespoke business. The remainder will be based in Engineering and Manufacturing and are directly linked to the production of Wraith, which is currently in pre-production with the first cars available to customers in the Autumn. A number of new positions have also been created in Rolls-Royce regional offices around the world.

Chief Executive Officer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Torsten Müller-Ötvös, said: ‘I am delighted to announce this recruitment programme, made possible by the continuing success of our company. Our cautious optimism at the beginning of the year has proven to be correct and our goal for the business remains the same: consistent, sustainable growth.’

Business Secretary Vince Cable did the politician thing by showing up when times are good for a car manufacturer. He added: ‘Today’s announcement shows how well the industry continues to grow.’ An advertising campaign for the new roles kicks off this week, with the Sunday Times and Marketing Week featuring the first adverts. Further details can also be on the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars website.

  1. If the Wraith is such a success, why are 50 people required to sell it ? Or am I being too cynical ? In any event I should have thought that Cable turning up at anything was the kiss of death for the project

  2. Great news, lets hope this success continues. Owned by BMW they may be but the guys in Munich still have the common sense to have the home of a British car mark in the UK. They learnt from past stupidity…. Are you watching how to make a British brand a success SAIC?

  3. @ Slartybarfast – yeah it does look like BMW have learnt and left them too it, and just helping out by supplying engines, tech and the 7 series chassis for the Ghost, if only they had allowed Rover group the same respect.

  4. Exactly. What did the previous owners do for the brand? One thing the Germans do peerlessly is engineering, the other is marketing. If RR had been sold to the usual hedge fund, where would it be now? Anyway all the anti-BMW people will be able to vote “no” in the referendum soon in full confidence that the people who run the Daily Mail, the Daily Express and the Daily Telegraph will take over where the engineers of BMW, Nissan, Honda and Toyota leave off.

  5. @10
Actually it’s only the marketing the germans do well. Most of their engineers are British
