Products : Skyfall set introduced by Scalextric

To celebrate the release of the 23rd instalment of the iconic James Bond movie franchise, Scalextric, owned by Hornby Hobbies Ltd, is introducing its Skyfall set. Throughout the past 50-years, Bond movies have brought to life some of the most recognisable cars in history and Skyfall is no exception. The new set heralds the return of Bond’s signature vehicle of choice, the Aston Martin DB5, first driven by Sean Connery in the 1964 classic Goldfinger.

In a duel for the best Bond car, the micro set (1:64 scale, £44.99) offers collectors the chance to pit 007’s classic car against a modern day adaptation, Bond’s choice in the Quantum of Solace movie, the Aston Martin DBS. If it is a villains car you are looking for then the larger set (1:32 scale, £119.99) will ensure the cool, sleek, black Range Rover Vogue SE will be in hot pursuit.

For those with the gold finger, Scalextric are also producing 3500 Limited Edition Twin Pack sets of the Aston Martin DB5 and Range Rover Vogue SE (£84.99). The fully operational cars come complete with presentation pack and bespoke packaging as well as working lights and full interior.

The iconic James Bond character was first created by writer Ian Fleming in 1953 with the first ever Bond movie, starring Sean Connery in Dr. No, launching to an unsuspecting audience in 1962. Now, after 50 years and with an unprecedented worldwide fan base, James Bond is returning to action with Skyfall.

  1. There wasn’t really a Range Rover v DB5 chase.
Perhaps the closest would be a green Defender 110 v DB5, but then they didn’t really chase as such.

The grey defender at the start and the baddies Audi A5 perhaps?
