Blog: Picture of the day

The Subaru Outback Boxer Diesel is an unsung hero, and whisper it, but I love this car. It swallows all the luggage, handles really well despite its jacked-up suspension, and actually sounds rather nice. It’s whisked me to the East far better than that Audi R8 did last month, even if it’s a tad slower.

A4 Autostrada, Poland, 31 May 2009. I wish ours were like this on a Sunday. There’s supposed to be a 130km/h limit, but the Germans were blithely ignoring it, trying their best to go 130mph instead…

Meissen, Germany, 31 May 2009. The hotel I’m dossing down in has a lovely view, and is so, so, peaceful… rather different to the previous night’s stopover in Czestochowa…
