COVENTRY CAR STRIKE HITS OXFORD
The effects of the strike of 20 body shop workers at Jaguar Carss, Coventry, spread yesterday to Oxford, where between 180 and 200 workers on the Jaguar car body production line at the Pressed Steel Company, Cowley, were sent home because of the Coventry strike. The Coventry strike is over paid waiting time. The men stopped work on Thursday claiming that the company without consultation had altered certain bookings made by the men. The company denied this. Yesterday the strikers were joined by about 1,500 assembly workers.
