Jaguar Chairman Sir William Lyons writes to director Bob Grice stating that it had been necessary to turn down an order for 400 Mk9 saloons due to industrial action which left dealers short of stock.
“This is just what our competitors, particuarly the Germans, want. It gives them the opportunity to take our dealers away from us. It is only to obvious that if we lose our dealers, we lose business.”
