MORRIS PRODUCTION RE-ADJUSTMENTS
Re-adjustments have been made in the production programme at the Morris Motors works, Cowley, Oxford, which will reduce the output of some models and increase others, said a statement from the factory yesterday.
It had been agreed with the unions that the full 42-hour week should continue and the full labour force remain intact, but there would be some reduction in the tempo of piecework. The night shift, working only on the Morris Minor 1000 and the Mini-Minor, is continuing because of the increasing demand for these models and the new Mini- Van.
