The unofficial strike at the Standard Triumph works at Speke goes on over the weekend, holding up production of bodies for the new TR4 sports car. Work will be resumed on Monday if the management agrees to negotiate with the works committee over incorporating a 2d an hour merit money claim into the general wage structure; the recognition of a shop steward; and a general review of working conditions.
