Jaguar Cars, Ltd., are to purchase from the Ministry of Supply the factory they occupy at Allesley, Coventry, Mr Aubrey Jones, Minister of Supply, announced yesterday.
The factory is at present leased to Jaguars, but an office block included in the sale is occupied by an agency research and development establishment operated on behalf of the Ministry by the General Electric Company Limited. The sale will enable defence research and development work to be transferred within the next 12 months to Portsmouth.
