The Rover Motor Company announced today that about 1,000 men at their Solihull assembly plant will begin a three-day week on Monday. Workers on the Land-Rover assembly line will not be involved.
The 241 staff made redundant at the Standard Motor Company, Coventry, received a week’s wages in lieu of notice and left the firm’s employ yesterday.
