Rover group has abandoned plans to develop a completely new car to replace the Austin Montego, the car it aims at the fleet buyers market, according to a report in The Engineer magazine. the magazine claims that the decision was taken by Mr Graham Day, Rover’s chairman, to cut costs.
“The decision taken four weeks ago has shocked suppliers”, the magazine says.
