In line with the general trend for more power, Standard Triumph announces the introduction of an engine conversion kit for the Triumph 1200 range. This comprises twin carburettors, redesigned inlet and exhaust manifolds and a new camshaft. The power output is raised, it is claimed, from 43 b.h.p. at 4,500 r.p.m. to 60.5 b.h.p. at 5,800 r.p.m. The price of the kit is £39 10s.
